Secretary Kerry on the Disabilities Treaty
Last year, disabilityinsight.com covered the horrendous failure of U.S. Congress to pass the United Nations' Disabilities Treaty. The treaty is designed to promote other countries throughout the world adopting policies similar to the Americans with Disabilities Act. Many Republicans voted against the treaty, causing it to fail to be approved, under the outlandish theory that it would allow the U.N. to control how American parents home-schooled their children with disabilities. This was despite the fact that many prominent Republicans supported the treaty.
