Texting and Driving is Finally Illegal in Florida

Florida has started to join in with the overwhelming majority of states in banning texting and driving. While the Florida law has been criticized as weak, because it makes texting and driving a secondary offense and allows for certain exceptions to the law, it was about time the Sunshine State got in line with the rest of the country.

The overwhelming majority of states have a ban on texting and driving and many states have bans on any use of phones while driving. Thousands of people have unnecessarily sustained severe disabilities due to texting and driving. Hopefully growing recognition of the dangers of texting and driving will help limit the amount of injuries caused by texting and driving in the future.
